This little corner of the internet is my creative outlet where I get to share what I love: cooking food! (especially the bold and comforting flavors of Filipino and Asian cuisine)
I’m the creator, writer, recipe developer, taste tester, photographer, and all-around behind-the-scenes everything here at The Sarap Spoon. I started this blog because cooking isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s a passion that’s deeply tied to my roots, my family, and my culture.
I grew up helping my mom in the kitchen, learning to make traditional Filipino dishes from scratch. From mastering how to use soy sauce and finding a love for garlic and ginger, those memories shaped my love for food early on. My mom cooked Filipino food daily, and those meals became the foundation of my cooking style today.
Now, I spend my free time experimenting with recipes and honoring the flavors I grew up with while adding my own creative spin. Through The Sarap Spoon, I hope to share these dishes with the world, connect with others who love Asian cuisine, and show that home-cooked Filipino food can be fun, easy, healthy, and absolutely delicious.
My husband and I live in Michigan with our sweet chocolate lab, Esther. When I’m not cooking or working, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, being active, trying new restaurants, or adventuring outside.
