Pinakbet is an easy, healthy Filipino vegetable stew that is perfect for when you don’t have time to cook but need a healthy meal. It is also very customizable to fit all types diets. I also like to switch up what type of pinakbet I eat. Sometimes I’m feeling shrimp or pork, and sometimes I just want veggie. That’s pinakbet is the perfect staple vegetable dish. It is healthy, easy, quick, and tasty.
My favorite way to make Pinakbet
I like all pinakbet. But, in my opinion, the best way to make it is with shrimp. I LOVE all things shrimp. It is probably my favorite seafood. A very popular way to make pinakbet is with shrimp and pork, which I agree is also very delicious. However, I think the simplicity of shrimp mixed with the bagoong (shrimp paste) and veggies is just perfect!
How to make Pinakbet
The main ingredient for the flavor of pinakbet is bagoong or shrimp paste. Bagoong is a salty paste with a seafood flavor. It is so good vegetable and some rice. Gather all the veggies of your choice and sauté them in with your protein of choice. Then add in your bagoong, soy sauce, garlic, and some fish sauce, and you got the perfect pinakbet dish. It really is that easy!
